Camagüey, Feb 14 - In light of the energy blockade imposed by the United States government against Cuba, there is a strong determination to maintain the teaching-learning process through the use of different alternatives, stated Loreley Suárez Capdevila, General Director of Education.
She emphasized as a priority that all students receive pedagogical attention amidst the complex situation, while ensuring a permanent connection between teachers, students, and families to achieve the effectiveness of each measure.
Speaking on the local TV channel TV Camagüey, she added that the decisions made are aimed at maintaining the highest possible level of in-person attendance. In this regard, daycare centers, semi-boarding primary schools, and special education schools continue to operate.
Junior High schools maintain double sessions as long as school snack services are guaranteed. Meanwhile, external centers for pre-university and polytechnic education continue to function with full enrollment and established schedules, she noted.
Suárez Capdevila commented that, amid the current situation, internal students have returned to their territories, as have teachers who have been reallocated, equipped with the necessary study guides, to nearby schools.
She pointed out that special attention is required during this period for twelfth-grade students, as they must continue their intensive preparation for entrance exams to higher education and other rigorous evaluations.
On another note, she indicated that fourth-year students from the Nicolás Guillén Batista Provincial Pedagogical School who have completed their fourth year are now located in their municipalities. Meanwhile, those in other years of study will receive classes in nearby institutions, where they will also support the educational teaching process as part of their pre-professional practice.
